Why Foster?

Limited space is a huge factor for our rescue when it comes to taking in surrenders. We are a smaller Colorado rescue and although we operate out of two facilities our space is limited. Our surrender requests always exceed our adoptions, and we never want to have to say no to a horse in need due to space restrictions. Foster homes allow us to make space for more horses that are in need of help! We are always looking for foster homes for our horses that are harder to place, many times these horses are older or are limited to very light riding or non riding homes.

All of the horses that we place in foster homes will be up to date on vaccines, dewormer, dental floats and farrier prior to being place in a foster home.

Once the horse is in a foster home, the foster is responsible for all maintenance cost (feed, trims, vaccines, dewormer, etc). Generally if a horse is on a daily medication we will provide the foster with the need medication. There is no time restriction on how long a horse can be in foster.
